On our way to Christmas

I've started to read Luke. Even after one chapter, it's been a blessing and it has brought me true Christmas spirit.

Luke 1.

I love how God decided to send his Son here for us the way he did.
Even before Jesus was born, God made sure his Son's birth would be anything but ordinary.

What makes Luke 1. so wonderful, in my opinion, is that God wanted to use two women. And not in a boring way! He showed his power through these women's lives.

Mary:

My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.

Best Christmas Songs

1.  O Holy Night

2. Now behold the lamb

3. Have yourself a merry little Christmas

4. Joy to the world

5. What child is this

I love Christmas songs that highlight what Christmas is all about. What are your favorite Christmas songs?

Let's give someone a merry little Christmas

This will be the third year I'm going to participate in Joulupuu (Christmas tree) charity campaign here in Finland. The idea is to buy a Christmas gift to an unprivileged child or teenager. You pick a girl or boy and the age and then you buy a nice gift and the organisation will distribute the gifts.

I challenge you, my dear readers and fellow bloggers. Let's make a child's Christmas merrier!

What you can do?

Here you can find couple examples of charity organisations that can help you to bring little joy to a child's life during Christmas.

You could also google the Salvation Army's Christmas Present Appeal! Seems like a great program.

Hot Bangkok Christmas

This year we're spending the Christmas in Bangkok, Thailand, in my parents place. So we are not dreaming of the white Christmas.

Last Saturday our plane landed and since then we've been running around the city, though I've been on antibiotics. I loooooove this city! It's hot, dirty and polluted, but it's full of life.

Here's something I've bought (so far)

I've been looking for a scarf with these colors, so I had to buy it though it was bit expensive. 290 bahts.

I'm not 100% sure what these are. My guess is a seedcase. But these will look awesome in a bowl on our coffee table.
