Another Shop - Just My Style

In my last post I shared some pics from The Craziest Shop Ever. On our Turku trip we visited another great decor shop and a cafe, called Avelia. It's in an old shipyard building.

Sooooo pretty!

The Craziest Shop Ever

Last week we visited my brother-in-law and his family in Turku. On our way there, we stopped at a really strange shop. It's called Kasvihuoneilmiö (translation: Greenhouse effect).

Kasvihuoneilmiö is an "Alice in the Wonderland" experience! The shop is in an old greenhouse and they sell literally everything from army stuff to cool old furniture.

Mixing Styles

I love mixing styles, because it makes a room look more interesting. I decided to create idea boards of different styles making love :)
I've used stuff from Chairish (online shop where you can sell and buy pre-loved decor. I noticed that you can even upload a smartphone app! Cool!).

Scandinavia meets Navajo culture:

Scandinavian decor can be quite "colorless", because we prefer neutral colors inspired by the nature around us. That's why those Navajo (can by used on the wall, as well) rugs would bring an interesting twist to a room. I would still keep the walls white so the color would pop out nicely.

Playful vintage meets industrial

My dream is to live in a house with old white brick walls. If I get to be that lucky, I'll use neutral colors with a bit of turquoise. But it would be super fun to try more playful decor ideas too! Like huge vintage letters and rusty steel cabinets.

French country meets modern

I love these delicate colors! This style is a bit too sophisticated for me, but I still think it's very stylish.

India meets cottage

There's something magical about indian decor. I love the idea of mixing this magic with cozy cottage decor.

Have you used Chairish? Which of these idea boards is your favorite?

Kid's rooms - Summer Inspiration

Some more pics from the Housing Fair. Part 1 HERE.

A perfect room for an active fella!

Another tipi. I loooooove that rug.

Cutie pie colors!

Who wouldn't want a pink oven?

Sorry about the quality of this pic. That wallpaper was so much fun,  I just had to post it :)

It's blurry, I know, but that room was so unique. Look at those birdhouses!

Part 2

I promised you "after" pics. Well, here you are:

I wanted it to be warm and down-to-earth... the opposite of what it used to be. I had a small cottage in my mind. That's why I chose wood panels.

We also got storage space because of that Ikea cabinet. The counter top is from Ikea too. I just waxed it because the color was not perfect.

It's still not completely finished. Accessories need to be added. I'm not sure which accent color to choose: purple or turquoise.

By the way, it's really hard to take pics in a small space without much day light.
