I went to Ikea. It's about 2-hour drive from our home, but I  felt I needed to get my mind off all the schools stuff. Plus we really needed lamps. Here's what I bought:

and... some other stuff that are not worth taking pictures of. (They are still just wooden boards waiting in their boxes...)

Our home is filled with furniture from Ikea. I like their style (and prices) but I don't want my home to look like a Ikea showroom. So how do I avoid this and create a home that has personality and is just right for us? Well that's something I'm going to write about soon.

An Israeli graphic designer posted on Facebook a poster of him and his daughter with a following message: "Iranians... we (heart) you." This simple post turned into a movement; now Israelis and Iranians are posting peaceful messages and taking a stand against the hate-filled propaganda.

Teacher Turns Low-income Kids Into Chess Champions


A music teacher, in the US, started a chess club in an elementary school to build his students' (who were mostly from low-income families) confidence. Now, nine years later, his chess team has won several consecutive state championships and is now heading to national finals. 



Chocolate 'may help keep people slim'

I guess the title says it all. Michelle Roberts (2012)writes in her BBC news article: "Even though chocolate is loaded with calories, it contains ingredients that may favour weight loss rather than fat synthesis, scientists believe." Hooray!
